📍 Overview
For our first official Curry Club review, we visited Ranas, located at #8 Nether Hall Road, Doncaster, DN1 2PW, on 30th July 2025. A fitting starting point for our mission, Ranas is a well-known local spot with a long-standing reputation — and on our visit, it was fairly busy, suggesting a steady loyal crowd.
The experience turned out to be good overall, but with plenty of room for improvement. Despite consistently friendly service and some standout flavours, certain parts of the experience held it back from achieving a higher score.
When all six reviewers’ scores were averaged, Ranas earned a total Curry Club rating of 6.66/10.

📊 Final Curry Club Score: 6.66/10
Ranas’ final rating reflects a restaurant that performs well in some areas — particularly service and flavour — but is held back by weaker scores in value and drinks.
Despite the average result, Ranas remains a reliable and enjoyable place for a casual curry night, especially if you value friendly staff and a warm environment. Our visit showed why it’s a regular choice for many Doncaster locals, even if it doesn’t quite reach the heights of what we expect from the very best curry houses in the country.
