📍 Overview
For our second adventure, the Curry Club headed out to Shapla, tucked away in the quiet village of East Cowick, Goole. Far from the bustle of busy town centres, Shapla offers an atmosphere that’s warm, calm, and instantly inviting — the kind of place where you can relax, enjoy the food, and feel genuinely looked after.
Despite its remote location, Shapla left a strong impression on every member of the team. With friendly service, a homely feel, and consistently enjoyable dishes, this visit set the bar noticeably higher than our first outing.
The final score? A solid, well-earned 8/10.

📊 Final Curry Club Score: 8.0/10
Shapla stands out as a genuine hidden treasure. It doesn’t rely on big-city flash, fancy décor, or huge crowds. Instead, it delivers what matters most:
✔ Warm service
✔ Consistently good food
✔ Fair prices
✔ A relaxed, homely atmosphere
While opinions varied between reviewers — as they always do with your wonderfully chaotic mix of tastes — the overall message is clear: Shapla is absolutely worth visiting, and one of the strongest starts to our Curry Club journey so far.
